What the wrapper can do: • allows you to play D2 ( which you have to install) directly through the latest patcher. All.exe arguments (-w, -direct, -nosound, etc.) can be used; • allows automatic update of patches and server through the gateway, as it would in windows; • allows the use of QoL improvements, albeit specific limitations (see ' can't do' section); • allows all other PoD mod features (maps, skill trees, etc.) What the wrapper can't do: • does not allow the in game selection of QoL features through the 'Settings' menu. This is a bug I couldn't figure out how to solve. Nonetheless, settings can be modified through the PoD registry entry (path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Blizzard Entertainment Diablo II PoD).

Its actually over 3gigs, because its zipped. The fact is that WINE wrappers have a windows environment inside the file (excuse me if I'm completely butchering the notions behind WINE wrappers). Whenever it is started it runs everything exclusively from inside the file (net framework, GDI, etc.). This actually includes the whole D2 game, which is already installed inside the wrapper.

This is what I was referring to when I said 'already installed'. So it is as easy as moving the file to the app folder and starting it up. Hi, I also tried running this wrapper and got errors. I then made a wrapper with the latest engine and had more luck. I have installed the game, launcher and latest patch.

However when I added the pod gateway in the registry editor and selected it in-game I could not connect to the servers (screen stuck at 'connecting to the fastest server'). The IP address I used was 'play.pathofdiablo.com'. I was able to successfully play last season with this engine. Also I tried using the BN gateway editor that you used however the IP address had too many characters for the editor and I couldn't type the whole address.
