Windows On Mac:: Remap Keyboard In BootCamp? May 28, 2008 I just have a quick question about Boot Camp. Is there any way that I can remap my keyboard ONLY when I'm in BootCamp, so that it's like I'm actually on a PC?

By this, I just mean that Command = Alt / Option, Alt / Option = the Windows logo key, and Control stays the same? If so, please tell me how, as it's really annoying while gaming, seeing as the games are formatted for a regular PC keyboard. Info: MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.3) Mar 29, 2012 I am using a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). I use a third-party USB keyboard that is laid out (naturally) Windows-style, with the Alt keys inside (closer to the space bar than) the “Windows logo” keys. I use the Modifier Keys button in the Keyboard preference panel to remap these to the standard Mac configuration, with the Command keys on the inside and the Option keys on the outside. Today those modifier keys are suddenly reversed back to the default Windows layout. The Keyboard panel still shows my preferred (remapped) configuration, but it is not being honored. I have tried reverting to the default layout and then back again, I have rebooted the system, nothing works—the modifier keys are still stuck in the Windows configuration.

I rely heavily on keyboard macros in my work, most of which use the modifier keys, and those keystrokes are built into my fingers as second nature. The reversed modifier keys are driving me crazy. Please help: what can I do to make the keyboard honor my settings in the Keyboard preference panel? Aug 13, 2009 After installing the bootcamp drivers the backlight will never turn off.I imagine this to be a problem for many but is there any known fix to this issue?

Selecting Open will bring up the Python Installer. Click Continue to progress through the menus. How to install tkinter module for python: mac. Eventually it will prompt you to agree to the software license agreement.

The light, even on dim drives me absolutely nuts. BTW Leopard is on 10.5.8 but I doubt that matters since I'm running in XP with boot camp. Bootcamp application in XP is version 2.1 Dec 13, 2007 I tend to use alot of my F-keys in Windows through bootcamp, but certain F-keys with secondary functions on the mac keyboard such as changing the brightness or volume up and down (as an example), keep functioning when I press them. I did shut off the secondary F-key functions in the Mac system preferences, hoping it would stay inactive when I'm in Windows. Unfortunately they still turn my brightness up and down when, let's say, I hit the F1 or F2 keys in Windows.

Does anybody know any way to shut this off in Windows? Does it have to do with any drivers installed? Dec 28, 2006 When I boot up with the XP disk I get to the selection screen for either Home or Pro (MSDN version) and I can't make a selection because the keyboard is non-responsive. Metro arms. I've tried several times with no success. I've got a MacBook c2d with the latest OS and firmware updates. Boot ROM Version:MB21.00A5.B00 SMC Version:1.13f3 Oct 27, 2008 I've probably had Bootcamp running for almost a six months and last week I got on my Windows like normal. But to my dismay my trackpad, mouse, and keyboard were not responding.

It just seems completely random since I didn't change anything or do anything different. Anyone have any solutions besides reinstalling? Oct 20, 2009 Ever since I updated to snow leopard, whenever I boot into my windows partition, it loads fine I just can't type anything nor move the cursor with the mouse at all. I've tried to insert the snow leopard disc while in windows and it doesn't really do anything. Nov 20, 2009 I will be purchasing the DiNovo Edge keyboard today, so I have to decide. Is it better to get the Mac or windows version?
