Post by trest I haven't had problems with using any of the regular WoW add-ons I've downloaded on my Mac. The standard WoW add-on sites (wow-interface, curse) work fine. I don't think the Curse client for Mac has been updated in years now (I've never tried it), but all the add-ons can be installed and used without using the client. On Macs, add-ons need to be installed in /Applications/World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns (unless you've put your WoW folder somewhere other than /Applications, in which case /Interface/AddOns). To install most add-ons, just decompress the add-on's.zip file, then move the resulting folder into the AddOns folder. Note that some add-ons come as a package of multiple add-ons (such as the popular DBM/Deadly-Boss-Mods add-ons).

For those, decompress the.zip file, but then move the folders from inside the resulting folder into the AddOns folder. You can generally tell that an add-on package is multiple add-ons when the decompressed folder contains just folders (and not any files ending in.lua or.toc). Post by Abashira I've been running Mac exclusively for six years now, and have never played wow on a PC.And I've never downloaded an add-on that doesn't work on my Mac because it's on a Mac. If you download an add-on and it isn't working, there are usually two things that could be wrong. A) The add-on itself is out of date. In that case it's not going to work on a PC either.

Some add-ons have been completely abandoned and taken up by another developer, and renamed; Or the original developer has renamed the add-on, and does't update the old version. Look for the most recent version, or find an alternative. B) The curse client for Macs has been discontinued by curse.com.

This means you have to manually drop your files into the path: Applications / World of Warcraft / Interface / Addons. However, whenever you download an add-on to your computer, look inside the downloaded file first. If there are two or more files in the main file, and no programs (just files), these need to be removed from the main file, and dropped individually into your Addons folder. (If there are files programs in the main file, just drop the main file right into your add ons folder.) As an example, take Deadly Boss Mods. When you open the downloaded 'DBM-Core-5' folder, inside are 15 sub-folders. Remove all 15 of these folders and drop them directly into your 'Addons' folder. ( All the folders: DBM-Brawlers, DBM-Core, DBM-DefaultSkin, DBM-DMF, etcetera, all need to be extracted from the 'DBM-Core-5' folder, and dropped into the Addons folder.) The Curse Client program does this automatically for PC users.

But we Mac users have to do the same thing manually. If you don't extract the sub-folders, DBM won't work. But it has nothing to do with being a Mac.

So i didnt know if i should ask this question in AskUbuntu or here, but since I've seen some good answers on Wine gaming here, i figured this would be a good place. I just recently started using Ubuntu, and for a while i used Dual Boot to play World of Warcraft. But it runs mostly fine under Linux using Wine, but i'm a little bit confused, where on my File System the 'Windows Filesystem' from Wine, where WoW is saved at, is located. I want to use some Interface Addons, because i became quiet used to them but I dont know where to put them. Amtlib dll cc 2017 osx.
