Free Lan Games For Pc And Mac

Posted on

Hello, We have free LAN parties once every couple months. We are currently playing on our XP/Vista machines: UT2004 (not free but was cheap:)), World of Padman, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. We know of Sauerbraten, Cube ones, Open Arena, Tribes 2, and Warsow, but have not 'LAN'd' them. America's Army has too high of requirements for some of our machines.

We are looking for suggestions for more FPS games and also possibly RTS or RPG games. We also know about the free Warzone 2100 that is out. I need to stress that these are both FREE and the location we host the parties does NOT have Internet, hence the LAN only.

I can't reccomend any specific title off the top of my head. However, I can ask: Have you considered abandonware or emulated console games? Those are certainly free.

You could download an emulator for a SNES for example, it installs locally in one folder, so it's easily transferable to other machines, and you can LAN up to four players on one game. I haven't done that in a long time, but if you try it, send me word! Abandonware on the other hand would take knowing what you're looking for, but they're all free.

Mac windows partition Not the most traditional of LAN game, but great for relaxed Sunday afternoons. Heroes of Might and Magic is difficult to put into any specific genre – it has elements of RPG, strategy, resource management, and sometimes even reminds me of a complex board game. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Jump to navigation Jump to search. The following is a list of computer and video games that feature cooperative gameplay. A Valley Without Wind 2 PC RPG, 2013, 2-8, LAN, Online, Full. LAN, Online, Full, No, * SP campaign coop available via community mod.

I vaguely remember playing some 'pre-game' before at a LAN party. It was some small game a guy had found called 'Butches' I think. That was years ago though, so I couldn't tell you about it now, but it was free and small.

I hope that helps. Contact me back. Firstly i'd just like to say Hi Guys:) Not sure as the what this game is called but its a shockwave based multiplayer FPS and done quite well. Second, Tremulous, its a cool little FPS that has been made to suit linux and its needs for gaming but also has a windows version to. I must also second that post about soldat, hours and hours of entertainment with my counter strike clan on that game, its so awesome! Last but not least, Get Half Life 2 then go mod searching is all i have to say, The amout of HL2 mods out there is insane, i know you said 'Free Games' but once you get half life, its like one of those buy 1 and get one free deals but its like. Buy HL2 and get 9999999 games for free, ha ha.

Anyway i best get back to work. Cheers, Kyle. My vote is FEAR Combat. It's a better version of the multiplayer that came with FEAR. We enjoyed it at my parties. I've played Nexuiz before and it was a good, but it suffers from the problem that all Open Source software suffers from in that its a little rough around the edges (though I haven't played it in several versions so I bet it's much better now).

My buddies get games on STEAM when they are on sale so that makes them cheap. If you buy any Source game (like HL2), then you can run any of the Source Mods out there. I liked Zombie Panic and pretty soon the StarGate mod will be a good release.

I reccommend FEAR Combat. They alllow you to download for free, the multiplayer aspect of FEAR. I found it to be a little generic for my taste, but i have to admit there is something satisfying when you litteraly nail your opponents to the wall with the Penetrator( a nail gun on steroids) The effects were pretty cool, and had some different gameplay options to choose from. Definetly good for a LAN.

Download vpn express for mac. Its a little boring to play over the net. But i have no doubt that it would be loads of fun to play with some buds.
